John Whitman is the award-winning author of more than a dozen books. He's also a 6th degree black belt in Krav Maga, a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and the founder of the Krav Maga Alliance.
John has wanted to be a writer since he was nine years old.

After earning a B.A. in Literature from UC Berkeley and an M.A. in Literature/Creative Writing from Boston University, John became executive editor for a small company that eventually became Time Warner Audiobooks. That job allowed him to write adaptations of Star Wars stories for audio (including "Dark Empire,"), which led to an invitation from Lucasfilm to create original stories set in the Star Wars universe.

John also wrote four original novels in the Jack Bauer 24: Declassified series, several Zorro novels, and many movie novelizations.

Taking a break from writing, John started a self defense and fitness company called the Krav Maga Alliance, which has over one hundred affiliates worldwide. During that time, he published three non-fiction books on self defense.

Now that his company is up and running well, John is back to writing. His most recent book is Disunion: Book One - The Mantiz Gambit.
